fw23: Coperni and the ever-changing world of Swipe bags
Four years after its launch, the Swipe bag still stands as the most desirable bag of the moment, with new iterations and limited editions being released. The two creative minds behind the success of Coperni, Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, continue to entertain us with their unique creations inspired by the digital world and emerging technologies.
CARRY INNOVATION WITH COPERNI BAGS
The embodiment of Coperni’s philosophy is the unmissable swipe bag, inspired by the eponymous iPhone unlocking function. The Swipe icon represents a way of staying connected with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, notifications. Making the digital life more tangible by designing a bag out of a single digital icon was the crazy challenge of Coperni. Completely avant-garde, Coperni succeeded, surprising everyone with this brilliant idea. Even in his most megalomaniac dreams, Steve Jobs wouldn’t have possibly imagined his offspring proudly wearing an iPhone-related technology as a bag on their shoulders.
DISCOVER THE NEW ITERATIONS OF THE SWIPE BAG
Originally released for Fall/Winter 19, the Swipe bag has since then been declined in different materials, colors, sizes and shapes, surprising us each season. Reflective materials, premium leather or entirely made out of blown glass and meteorite, the different iterations of the unmissable it-bag have been travelling all-over the world on the shoulders of the most famous stars like Bella Hadid, Doja Cat or Kylie Jenner. The trend for Coperni bags isn’t meant to stop anytime soon, with the French label now teasing a new version made with a CD-Player incorporated.
THE PATH OF VAILLANT AND MEYER TO SUCCESS
Working for Courrèges, being nominated as the finalists of the LVMH prize, dressing up Bella Hadid on the spot at Paris Fashion Week… It seems like the two French designers of Coperni have done it all. Convincing the entire fashion world since the start of their label in 2013, Vaillant and Meyer have never looked back.
Coperni states as a forward-looking tech-savvy label. Sleek futuristic designs and unforgettable moments during runways define the French label as revolutionizing, making robots and humans work together during their latest fall/winter 2023 show in Paris Fashion Week. For the occasion, Boston Dynamics technology rhymed with Coperni’s poetry, reminding us of the emblematic 99’s runway of Alexander McQueen and the incorporation of electronic devices in fashion. This clearly shows the commitment of Mayer and Vaillant to technologies, always using it as the engine of their inspiration since the start of Coperni.
