Peak Performance’s collaboration with Ben Gorham and the collection “Possessions of my Soul” continues for season FW 2020. Before discovering winter sports Ben Gorham longed for the dark and cold season in the city to end. Today he is a passionate winter explorer.

The 19-piece collection features a complete range of products for winter in the mountains, from base layers to pro- tective shells. A bold Gore-Tex parka is a signature piece with its longer than long silhouette. The outerwear line also includes a Gore-Tex Infinium Down jacket and two Gore-Tex ski sets, hard-shell and padded. An oversized, padded flannel shirt and a long, padded liner are also key pieces.

Ben Gorham has always lived in the Northern Hemisphere, where the temperatures are rather often chilly if not frigid. But it was not until recently that he learned to embrace the winter season. Through outdoor activities and a reconnection with nature, Ben discovered a new appreciation for winter. Having once associated snowfall with traf- fic, Ben now associates it with fresh powder and skiing. His perspective has changed, and with it, Ben has gained a new outlook on the coldest season of the year.

After leaving his professional basketball career behind and in starting Byredo, Ben’s once active lifestyle declined drastically. In order to fulfill his longing for wellness, Ben took the step from organized team sports to outdoor ac- tivites. Nature became his place for meditation and self-realization. Ben’s interest in the outdoor culture and the contrast between his day job and his escape to nature grew and grew. The interaction with nature and respect for the environment all created strong memories. It was dramatic and spiritual.

The goal was to create an accessible product for a broader target group. Edgy shells with an urban twist. Peak Performance has together with Ben Gorham created liberating garments for where people actually live and for the things they experience. Pieces in the collection are functional but work just as well in the city just as in the outdoors.

Through the FW2020 “Possessions of My Soul” collection, Ben wants to convey a feeling and evoke emotions for the outdoors. It’s an emotional journey. The actual activity is just one part of the experience. Like when you surf or ski. It’s the context and everything around it. The anticipation. When the journey begins. It’s not only the perfect turn or wave.
